Portrait of Thomas S. Szasz, M.D. (b. 1920).
Professor of Psychiatry from 1956 to 1990, Szasz gained an international reputation as the author of such
controversial books as The Myth of Mental Illness (1961). Painted by Jerome Paul Witkin (b. 1939).
